The problem with the church’s approach to sexual sin isn’t that we are too hard on it. I know from my own failings that being hard on sin is not really something the church does in general.
The problem is we are so soft that no one is held accountable. And then things like this happen:

Sexual sin is a path to hell.
That embedded message doesn’t appear to have any connection to a Christian church, but of course that means nothing in this day and age. It could just as easily have originated from some “ministry” launched by some lost soul within an evangelical church lacking any discernment as it could have originated from the headquarters of some newly established religion that centers around sodomy. The very nature of “established (or if you prefer, “incorporated”) religion” inevitably leads to this very thing as the norm.

You’re right that there’s no apparent link to a church. Groups like Revoice seem to be stepping stones to this sort of thing though. I think this is where the “woe is me, because the church told me not to sin” leads.
